The show harnesses the power of the Rock Band video game, the hit sensation that has taken casual gamers by storm and challenges the American public to form a band and rock out to their favorite songs on guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. Now, for the first time, video game fantasy merges with rock star reality, as contestants will bring their Rock Band prowess to a real stage, performing for a live crowd and competing for great prizes. Each band will have their own identity, and their success will ultimately depend on the impression they leave on the audience.
