Set in Indianapolis, BENNIE UPSHAW (Mike Epps), a garage mechanic and lifelong mess, is trying his best to care for his family– wife REGINA (Kim Fields), a hospital administrator, their young two daughters AALIYAH and MAYA, and oldest child, BERNARD, a straight-laced UPS employee who wants nothing to do with Bennie. As if that wasn’t enough, Bennie also must deal with 13-year old KELVIN, a son he fathered during an extramarital affair with neighborhood hair stylist, TASHA (Gabrielle Dennis).

Though Bennie’s paternal responsibilities weigh heavily on him, he’s determined to become the stand-up dad he knows he can be. But should he mess up, his sister-in-law LUCRETIA (Wanda Sykes) is always popping up to remind him of his shortcomings.
